Keep Lincoln Working

Shift change in the mornin', trucks pull in the lot

Coffee at the diner, it's the only break they got

More than four hundred jobs out on that road, neighbors that we know

Then word came down from Springfield: they want the place to go

They'd pack those jobs and haul 'em off a hundred forty miles

And every one that leaves this town takes a paycheck and a smile

Keep Lincoln workin', keep our people near

Keep those paychecks spendin' on our Main Street here

It ain't over yet, we can turn this thing around

Keep Lincoln workin', stand up, hold our ground

It's a mom who works the night shift, it's a dad who drives in every day

It's the bleachers on a Friday when the Railsplitters play

And the union said to build it here, on or near the ground it's on

But the plan still sends 'em up north, and those jobs would all be gone

They'd pack those jobs and haul 'em off a hundred forty miles

And every one that leaves this town takes a paycheck and a smile

Keep Lincoln workin', keep our people near

Keep those paychecks spendin' on our Main Street here

It ain't over yet, we can turn this thing around

Keep Lincoln workin', stand up, hold our ground

Out past the edge of town there's a campus we all knew

Sittin' empty, grey and quiet, since two thousand two

Now they talk about new money and a new plant comin' through

The mayor asked the state not to leave another mess, and we're askin' too

Now it ain't gone yet, and nothin's set in stone

Change who's up in Springfield, keep those good jobs home

So get on down to Room 20, fill in every line

We can turn it around, Logan County, one vote at a time

Tracy, Bailey, Del Mar, Fioretti, Harris, Drew

Solomon and Mary Miller, Turner, Hauter too

Allen for the schools and Duffy for the court

Pharis, Wright and Rendi Ray, the county's got support

Conrady, Fink and Knauer, Gleason, Coughlin, Hinton, Conahan

Every name, every line, Logan County, here we stand

Keep Lincoln workin', keep our people near

Keep those paychecks spendin' on our Main Street here

It ain't over yet, we can turn this thing around

Keep Lincoln workin', stand up, hold our ground

We can turn it around... keep Lincoln workin'.
